The Coach for Schools

As the founder of Positive Horizons Life Coaching, Ian Barrett holds a First Class BEd (Hons), is a New Insights Certified Life Coach, an Accredited Interactive Coach, and a Member of the Association for Coaching.
He has years of experience working in schools across London as a classroom teacher, language co-ordinator, and most recently as a Deputy Head Teacher. Whilst in the latter post, he was given responsibility for the Continued Professional Development of school staff, as well as Mentor for trainee teachers on placements from teacher training institutions. This is where he truly excelled, largely due to his encouraging and reassuring manner, which is based on building trustworthy working relationships and empowering others with the tools to maximise their potential.
Like children, school personnel also need to be nurtured, guided, encouraged and supported to help them succeed in their very challenging roles and responsibilities. Ian is passionate about helping teachers and can really empathise with the pressures, demands, stresses and strains that they face. He has been there on the shop front so to speak and has had the first-hand experience that ultimately makes him the perfect coach for teachers.
Ian is also currently working with the teachers of the future through delivering elements of initial teacher training programmes, such as the RTP and PGCE, at a London university. He also supervises and assesses trainee teachers on their school placements.
Ian is now able to combine all the above experience with his coaching practice and up-to-date knowledge of the very best coaching tools and techniques available today. He truly is the The Coach For Schools. You will be amazed at the extent to which the Plain Sailing in Schools Programmes can make a radical difference to your life.
Ian firmly believes that the interactive coaching process is a revelation, especially in terms of the impact it can make on people’s lives. This truly is a 24/7 coaching platform – you can use it at any time of the day and from any place in the world with an internet connection. The coaching programmes give you the opportunity to really practise quality reflection on your life and how you would like it to be – all this via the power of the written word. And by coaching teachers and support staff, Ian hopes that some of the tools and techniques used will radically improve their performance and wellbeing, which ultimately can only benefit our pupils in schools.
